Challenges for a Sustainable Financial Education is the central theme of the XVIII International Finance Conference (XVIII IFC) in September 2018 at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. The Faculty of Economics, home of the current edition, is proud to welcome researchers on finance topics in this prestigious event for the first time in Brazil. Among the various themes are Financial Management, Financial Economics, International Finance, Influence of Macroeconomics on Corporate Finance, Financial Markets, International Accounting Standards and others. At the last conference in Santiago, Chile, the main theme was Financial Inclusion. Now, with the focus on Financial Education, IFC renews its status as the stage of important discussions and training in the broad area of ​​finance. Specifically, the central theme has been gaining increasing attention from the economic authorities and the general public, notably in economies where households are more indebted. In its tradition of bringing together scholars, government officials and market operators, the XVIII IFC will have professionals from CVM, Anbima, Apimec, B3 and financial institutions among its panelists, as well as promoting the dissemination of papers by academic researchers, professionals from public and private sectors, and students, especially from Latin America, who are already invited to send their contributions to the conference.
